The UBA National Essay Competition, which has been held annually for the past 12 years, is the culmination of one of UBA’s initiatives on education that is managed by its charitable arm, UBA Foundation. At the contest and award ceremony held on Monday at UBA House, Marina, Lagos, Sharon Uwajiaku of Ota Total Academy in Ogun State was chosen as the second runner up from among the more than 5,000 children who submitted entries from all over the country. Sharon and the other finalists discussed how Nigerian students have frequently lost time due to ASUU strikes, gave the Nigerian government advice on how to work out a deal with ASUU to advance tertiary education in the country.
